Pilot Study

K10 Anxiety And Depression Scale

If anxiety is fully expressed it serves a purpose in our lives. Just the right amount of anxiety is needed to help us achieve our best physical and mental performances. Too little anxiety results in lethargy and too much prevent us from thinking clearly. Unresolved anxiety causes stress. So it is clear that anxiety requires physical and/or mental action from us; when we fail to take action, it results in stress. Stress wears out our bodies (Segall & Davids, 2001:219-221). The results of this study show that massage and aromatherapy conducted with Lavender and Sweet Orange oil had a positive impact on anxiety levels in the Test group and are indicated for use in a holistic occupational stress therapy program.
